Are you guys going to do anything about the sound quality? Ever since the revamp its kind of gone down hill. It’s staticy at times and the level tends to go up and down a lot. Maybe it is just cutting out I’m not sure. It’s not the worst thing ever but it is hard to listen to at times.
Apologies for the audio issues, Skype was screwing up at the end and caused part of Nates track to be staticky momentarily. I don’t believe there’s been any static present on any other episodes though. We realize that there is a slight issue in the Mic that fridleycent is using but we are working on upgrading all of the mics we use. I’m not aware of any ongoing sound quality issues outside of his Mic being slightly quieter and tinnier. Are you hearing something I’m not?
As far as Scarface, I’m sorry man but that’s a terrible argument. First, just because we didn’t mention the 30s scarface does not mean we weren’t aware of it. There was no need to try to insult our movie IQ with the ‘basic movie knowlege’ comment. Anyways, Stone’s Scarface is the definitive version and whether it was a remake or not should have no bearing whatsoever on the topic of the rumored remake that we were discussing. Someone has every right to be excited or to be upset about a potential remake regardless of whether the film has already been remade or not….nothing silly about it.
How is it a terrible argument. You are getting upset they are remaking a movie again. That’s like saying I can’t believe someone is covering Jimi Hendrix’s All ALong the Watchtower, which is a song he covered. That remake/cover seal has been broken. Why get worked up about it at this point.
I also did not mean to insult your film IQ. I meant that the original Scareface is a foundation (better word than basic) of film knowledge to know about. You state it is definitive version of it which is debatable. Sure it may be more popular but the entire framework of that movie can be found in the original. I can tell you the original is taught in film school, though the remake may be as well. .
Regarding the sound it all just sounds fuzzy at times. Like I’m listening to an AM radio station that’s not quite on the right dial.
I’ll address this in next weeks episode. It’s most definitely a terrible argument that hopefully you will understand after hearing my reasoning :)
So in other words you don’t have any reasoning at this moment and can only defend yourself in a forum where no one disagrees with you? If you are going to be audacious enough to claim an argument is terrible you better have reasoning for it. You have so far failed to do that.
Ok, I think this has reached it’s end point for this specific thread/post/episode. Lets table this until the next MWIRE Weekly:)
that’s not what I said at all – I simply prefer to provide reasoning through audio because it doesnt get misinterpreted as much as through text. Example…how much you misinterpreted my last post ;)

Also Scarface is already a remake. The 80’s Oliver Stone Scarface was a remake of Howard Hawk’s movie from the 30’s. That’s basic movie knowledge. Hard to get upset that they are remaking a movie that was already remade.
Not even finished but I had to say something. I find it interesting that someone said in a very crazily manner that the only reason people bash on Indy 4 is because of nostalgia glasses but then that person bashed on things like TMNT, Harry Potter, and more with fanboy glasses just because they didn’t match the source materials. I don’t get fanboys. They yell loudly and make no sense. I honestly know people with severe forms of autism that can handle change better. OMG Noooo! They don’t match. Worse it’s a dumb argument for stupid people who lack an ability to form a real argument.
You may need to relisten to that part of the episode. I think you misunderstood what was being said…
They should just not make another Indiana Jones movie. The purpose of the Jones character was in part to play homage to the adventure characters of the classic serials. To replace him with someone new for me go against what made that movie great. Leave it alone. Make something new. Regarding The Rock as a DC character the easy go to is Black Adam. It would be intriguing just to see The Rock play a villain in a movie. In some ways I can see him as Jon Stewart but I wonder how he would fit in with Superman and Batman. He so much larger than life so charismatic that I don’t see how that would mix in the Man of Steel universe we just saw.
Funny listening to this after listening to Altered Geek and getting two very different sides on TMNT. Like hearing both sides, and I think I side more with you. I just don’t like anything about the TMNT stuff so far.
Don’t know enough about DC to say who The Rock can play. Maybe Green Lantern. Sure Green Lantern.
I agree with not recasting Indiana Jones at all. Just leave it be. For the Rock I would like to see him as Lobo to add some levity to those movies.
Maybe they could get the zombie of River Phoenix to play Indy or have River’s brother Joaquin do it.
As a big Wes Anderson fan I was actually disappointed with Grand Budapest. The humor was not as sharp and was hoping he’d do more with the format of a mystery and prison then he did. I still liked it but would put it near the bottom of his filmography.
What would you put at the top. just curious?
Ohh you ask the hard questions. Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, Royal Tennenbaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox are my favorites. No specific order there really. Darjerling is probably on the bottom and I did enjoy this much more than that one. I put it on par maybe a little ahead of Life Aquatic. I do think though Wes Anderson films require at least 2-3 viewings before you can really get a total grasp of them though. So my opinion may change.
What about Ryan Gosling as the new Indy? Can’t think of anyone else. Maybe if Nathan Fillion was younger.
The Rock should be Bizaro Super-Man except his bizaro is different from regular Superman because he has a personality, can smle, and talks in longer than three word sentences.
