  1. Meckaneck’s Lament was the highlight here. It seemed like a story worth telling. We got character development and the conflict played into that.

Dragon’s Brood and Turnabout were not bad episodes, but they didn’t really elevate this series in any way. I was hoping that Dragon’s Brood would tie in Granamyr into this MOTU universe. The fact that this was just a run-of-the-mill story, just left me asking, why did this episode get made? It takes so much effort to make an animated series. It just seems like if you had an opportunity to write a MOTU story, you would want to bring in dragons, but add something to make it more pertinent to the MOTU universe.

In Turnabout, we did see the Diamond Ray of Disappearance. It is in the thumbnails in the chapter previews on the DVD for that first chapter of the episode. So, I was excited to see how they would tie that into this series. But then, they simply destroyed it. The belt led to some humorous moments, but again, it seemed like another middle-of-the-road story that didn’t expand on the universe or give us any real character development. So again, I was disappointed.

    1. Thanks Tim, yeah Meck’s ep was great. Turnabout was the comedy ep this time around, but it shows how Skeletor’s minions feel about him as well. Thanks for listening as always.
