I haven’t listened to the podcast to hear your thoughts yet, but these episodes were disappointing. Wild Child was just horrible. The kid’s voice was annoying, and I found myself bored by the episode. As the DVD mentions, this is an episode with no villains, so I went into with low expectations. I cannot give this one more than one Crystal Castle, and that is being generous. I have no interest in ever watching this episode again.
Larry is a great writer. I enjoy his stories for the most part, but The Greatest Magic isn’t the story I wanted to see him go out on; this was his last story for She-Ra. As he says in the bonus features, he got offered twice the money, but he had no fun writing for the company he left Filmation for. He speaks highly of Lou and Filmation, and others have echoed that as well. Maybe I just don’t care for the Trollan world. But I just wasn’t that interested in the plot or execution here. I liked the new Trollan designs, however. 2 Crystal Castles.
Interesting – I need to watch the special features still!
