  1. I find myself once again agreeing with you guys for the last two episodes of the He-Man series. To Save the Creatures was a somewhat boring episode. Anytime you have a kid in the episode you practically lose a point; most of them are not very good. The moral of following your passion, however, was a good one. I expected it to be in regards to treating animals and all life with respect, but this moral also worked. It wasn’t a bad plot, but in the end the execution was somewhat lacking and I found myself drifting off to sleep. It gets two Orkos.

The Cold Zone, however, is a different story. It was written by JMS, and it stood as a well-written and well-paced episode. Seeing a villain asking He-Man for assistance, only to double-cross him is to be somewhat expected in 80’s cartoons such as this, but it was done well. We are introduced to the snake people–and yes, I liked the king’s voice as well–who live underground and are concerned that without heat they will perish. It is up to He-Man to save the day. The Land Shark vehicle was interesting to see, as I am pretty sure I remember seeing ads for that toy. And I like Kobra Kahn. Sure, it would have been nice had we gotten a true finale to the series, but I knew going into this show that that wasn’t going to happen. Back then it was rare that series got a true send-off. ThunderCats is one of the few shows I can think of that had one. So I won’t fault the episode for it. This is a fun, above average episode, so I side with Kevin and give this one four Orkos.

Thanks for the fun podcasts. I look forward to the wrap-up and continuing adventures with Myths of Etheria in the fall.
