Three solid episodes. In fact, I’m giving two of the three five Orko ratings: Betrayal of Stratos and The Arena. These were both what I like to see in He-Man: great battles with interesting characters in a great sci-fi story. In Betrayal it was great getting more backstory on Stratos, his homeland, and his people. The egg of Avian was a great addition to the story and using that element to bring in Skeletor and the evil warriors was a nice touch. And in The Arena we got an epic battle with the warring armies, which was unlike anything we had seen in the series thus far. And I liked Om, the alien entity. Sure, it’s a cheap way to design a character, but I like sci-fi aspect of it.
The Ice Age Cometh was okay. Icer was a goo design. A decent episode. 3 Orkos.
I am surprised you did note the similarity between Arena and the Classic Star Trek epsiode Arena. To be fair the Trek episode was an adaptation of a Science Fiction short story “Arena” by Frederic Brown.
You do a great job reviewing the show. Keep up the good work. Thank You.
If it had been a TNG episode I probably would have taken note – I don’t remember most of the TOS episodes, didn’t like that series as much :)
Fair enough.
