ToonCast

Coming 65 Years In The FUTURE!

BEYOND GOOD, BEYOND EVIL, BEYOND YOUR WILDEST IMAGINATION!

About halfway through ToonCast I had a general idea of how to continue the podcast, however making it a BRAND NEW podcast. Then there was the Batman Beyond joke of 65 years in the future. Thus ToonCast Beyond was born. While ToonCast Proper is over at Episode 100 and we finish talking about the cartoons we grew up with. ToonCast Beyond will focus on any cartoons airing right now. We will also have what we are calling “Delorean Time” Episodes…… These DT Episodes will act as going back in time to ToonCast proper to cover any cartoons we grew up with that aren’t in ToonCast Proper. So anything that wasn’t covered will be covered in the future. ToonCast Beyond will have a similiar yet different format then ToonCast. We are running this podcast like a television season. So season 1 starts on November 11th 2011 and ends May 30th 2012. It will run from Episode 01 to Episode 30. After Episode 30 there will be a 2 month “off season”  then Season 2 will start August 1st 2012. So there’s a general idea of how the seasons will work. ToonCast Beyond will air every Wednesday just like ToonCast Proper did. The schedule of episodes currently has 200 episodes on the list. So I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised with the coverage we’ll be doing.

And now a taste of things to come here are the Seasons we have so far:

Season 1 – Superheroes

Season 2 – Dreamworks

Season 3 – Disney Film Spotlight

Season 4 –  Disney Animation

Season 5 – Pixar Spotlight

Season 6 – Action Spotlight

Season 7 – Cartoons Of Randomness Part I

Season 8 – Animated Films

Season 9 –  Cartoons Of Randomness Part II

Right now ToonCast Beyond is scheduled through 2016 so you’ll have plenty of cartoon talk from us here at The Geek Cast Radio Network.

TFG1Mike will be the main host with a rotating panel of co hosts that include Steve/Megatron, Kevin OptimusSolo, and Tarah The Rising Star. There will be room for “guest hosts” at times.

So there ya have it. That’s the all the info on ToonCast Beyond. Episode 00 will be released June 1st 2011 Then on November 11th 2011 we go Beyond!

Geeks:

Mike “TFG1″ Blanchard

Kevin “Optimus Solo” Thompson

Steve “Megatron” Phillips

Tarah “The Rising Star” Bleier

  1. well to be honest the only ones that won’t have variety are the Disney Film Spotlight and the Dreamworks spotlight. The rest will be a ton of variety. Plus there will be DT Episodes throughout each season. At most there will be 3-4 Delorean Time episodes per season. Trust me Tim I know what I’m doing.

Superhero and action seasons will be all different types of cartoons. Plus I’ll be posting Season 1 Schedule after ToonCast 100 airs.

  2. Great to hear that Toon Cast will live on…which I knew it would since you’ve been teasing TC Beyond for a while. It’s good to get an idea of what format the show will have. I am a little unsure about basing an entire season on one topic. If someone doesn’t like superheroes or Dreamworks, for example, they might just skip that entire season. There were times during Toon Cast that you did the “spotlights” and I had wished you had taken a different approach and not done them back-to-back but still called it part of the spotlight because I didn’t necessarily want to sit through several weeks of Disney cartoons, for example. But you seem to stick to your guns on these things, so I’ll do my best to hang in there, but I may sit some out. I’m interested to see how other fans feel about these seasons being dedicated to entire themes rather than mixing them up a bit.

  3. All I want to know is if you have any plans to discuss “Captain Simian and The Space Monkeys”? LoL

  4. anything is possible in the future. Right now Season 1’s Delorean Time episodes are set. Past Season 1 anything can happen.

  5. I’m looking forware to Ipoding it and I hope to see reviews for Denver the last dionsoar, the raccoons, Get Along Gang, Dreamstone, the lion harts, and Toxic Crusaders.

Most of these cartoons are only viewable on hulu.com and jaroo.com; get along gag is only on you tube but I hope to get an blu-ray version soon; this also with the jaroo and hulu only shows that I listing before.

  6. keep in mind all those you listed we will be using for Delorean Time episodes. Where we travel back to the past. ToonCast Beyond will mainly focus on current cartoons from 2000-Whenever now is. However the DT episodes will be sprinkled throughout each season.

Glad you are looking forward to it so are we!

  7. Because of the lost of Toon Disney I hope Cartoon Network makes an Boomerang 2 and 3. Boomerang 2 I hope is all shows like Chip n Dale, Raccoons, paw paws, and Care Bears.
Shows like Samurai Pizza Cats, TMNT (the old show), the SEGA and Nintendo cartoons, and swat cats will be Boomerang 3.

  8. To be fair Lance Toon Disney has been gone a long time at this point, it became Jetix. Then Jetix became Disney XD. I’ve searched out stuff for additional Boomerang channels as far as I know none exist besides the original.

  9. I said do to the lost of Toon Disney I wound be nice to see Cartoon Network make them; I knew Toon Disney died already.
