UNLEASH THE TOON IN YOU!!!!
Great first episode all around, Mike and Chuck! As far as comparing it against other series (aside from MARVEL series) in the same genre, you would have to compare this to “Batman – The Brave & The Bold”. Both series are written for both kids and adults, with a mix of kiddy humor and adult laughs.
I’ll never compare SHS against a show that has freakin Oswald from Drew Carey as Batman’s Voice! Worst Batman Voice EVER!
You know that’s really un fair, Mike. Kinda of like refusing to see certain movies because you didn’t like the trailers. Oh, SNAP! LOL, just jokes. Still unfair though.
Still BBATB has nothing on the awesomeness that is SHS. Sure they both have their fanbases, but SHS is definitely better and more kids friendly.
Before CN lost the license I began watching SHS and I fell in love with it immediately. When I listened to the podcast originally I had not seen the show. I had never heard of the show, honestly. But when I saw the art for the show I hated the designs. I thought the intention was to create a very kid-friendly show, and they kind of did, but it is a show that older viewers will enjoy as well. The show looks great. The designs work well in animation. The voice acting is top-notch. And the show is just fun. Yes, it is funny, but it is just fun. I was afraid it would try too hard to be funny and come off as contrived and stupid, which is my problem with a lot of Adult Swim offerings. SHS is anything but. It’s a good show. I hated to see it move to The Hub, which isn’t part of my package anymore. I’m hoping for complete season DVDs in the future because this show definitely deserves to be in my collection.
