Theory Of A Deadman: The Truth Is…

Lets jump in the Delorean and head back to 2002 shall we…. May 3rd 2002 to be precise! A few months before this date Hero by Chad Kroeger Featuring Josey Scott had been released to radio, and a video for the song was everywhere!! At the time I didn’t know this, but one of the guitar players in the video was Tyler Connolly who I’d eventually know as the lead singer of Theory Of A Deadman. I’d heard their first single Invisible Man on the Spider-Man soundtrack and I was hooked. Their self titled album featured great songs like Make Up Your Mind, Nothing Could Come Between Us, Confession, Say I’m Sorry, and so many more. I’d listened to the entire album over and over, then in early 2003 I found out they’d be performing before 3 Doors Down in the Jillian’s Lot. I actually won tickets to this concert it was sooo freakin awesome. Another one of my favorite bands 12 Stones was there as well. Theory and 12 Stones were setup in the parking lot hanging out before the show signing autographs. I got stuff signed from both bands! The show was amazing I really went for these two bands mostly, at the time I was burnt out on 3 Doors Down. In 2005 Theory released their follow up album Gasoline, and once again I was hooked. Favorites off this one are Hating Hollywood, Since You’ve Been Gone, No Surprise, Me & My Girl, and Hello Lonely. I wasn’t able to catch them in concert this time around, but just hearing new songs from them was great.

April 1st 2008 and no this aint no April Fools Joke, but that was the release date of Theory’s third album Scars & Souvenirs.  This third album sported numerous singles that were all very popular. So Happy, Hate My Life, Bad Girlfriend, Not Meant To Be, By The Way, and more. Theory has had a natural evolution to each album. These guys have great music and not only do they sing songs that have stories of emotional importance, they also have fun songs.

I started hearing stuff about a fourth Theory album in early 2011. I tried to find out as much as I could but info didn’t start coming out til about May of this year. May 17th 2011 Lowlife the first single off The Truth Is.. hit radio and digital download. This is one of Theory’s fun songs I mentioned before, then it was announced that they’d have a song on the soundtrack for Transformers Dark Of The Moon the song was Head Above Water. Again just from hearing these two songs I was hooked once again into what Theory was creating. In mid June I checked to see if iTunes had the pre order for the special edition of The Truth Is… they did and to my surprise they offered two things with pre ordering this version of the album. Number one you’d get an immediate download of the album’s second single called Out Of My Head, and number two you’d get a acoustic version of Lowlife with the pre order. This was an awesome deal I jumped at the chance. After getting the album and hearing it multiple times already I can truly say that Theory Of A Deadman have outdone themselves again. So far my most favorite songs are The Truth Is… (I Lied About Everything), We Were Men, Love Is Hell, but seriously they are all good the ones I’ve just listed are my favorites out of the tracks I hadn’t heard before the album’s release.

So in conclusion if you like good rock music check this one out. Hell check Theory Of A Deadman’s entire catalog. Below you’ll find links to buy the regular and special edition versions of the album. The Truth Is….Theory knocked it outta the park yet again!!!!
