  1. Man I agree with you both. Turtles was awful in every way possible. Just a piece of garbage.

My favorite Robin Williams role was in Fisher King. For me it is the epitome of Robin Williams. On the surface it was very comedic, but underneath some great deal of tragedy.

  2. Man it’s impossible to pick my favorite Robin Williams role. I mean Aladdin, Birdcage, Good Will Hunting. I can’t pick just one. Its just so sad. He is truly an original.

      1. Yea I right there with you. My favorite has to be Good Will Hunting. Fantastic. I’ve watched it a few times this week since I heard the news.

  3. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is actually not bad. A little too sweet at times. I would not be surprised it came out of an Oprah book of the month. The actors make it work though.

For Robin Williams my favorite movies would have to be Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam, and I really like Man of the Year as well.

  4. Picking a favorite is probably impossible. Although I will say if someone asked me what Robin Williams movie they should see first I would go with World’s Greatest Dad. Its a different side of Williams he didn’t always show. One of his best performances.

Also I would highly recommend the recent episode of Mark Maron’s WTF. He rebroadcasted his podcast with Williams from 2010 after his passing. I think its one of the few times Williams wasn’t really just himself. A must listen if you are at all a Williams fan.

  5. Interesting name change. Not able to make a final decision if I like that name or not. Sounds a bit reminiscent of At the Movies. I might be able to let it slide.

    1. It was actually a change to Make MWIRE (Movie Week in Review) not say say Movie Week in Review Weekly. One of two names I came up with when I named the original MWIRE years ago.

      Should still work tho.

      1. Yea, just that At the Movies is rather a holy show in the movie review universe. Many, myself included, hold At the Movies at high regard. Big reason I got into movies in a big way.

        1. one of the reasons I like the title for WATM is if the hosts choose to promote it this way they can say stuff like… “here’s what happened this past weekend at the movies.” But that’ll be up to them.

          1. Yea that was the way Ebert and Roeper opened their show back in the day.

          2. Yea, I’m not trying to rip off other people’s tag line so you probably won’t hear us saying that.

        2. Truthfully I’ve never heard of it. I came up with the Weekend At The Movies and Movie Week in Review titles simultaneously in 2007 while apart of the defunct TFwire.com Network. They were to be pitched as separate shows there. Each being what they are here actually.

          1. Interesting. Surprised you never heard of At the Movies. It was the premiere movie show back in the day. “Two Thumbs Up” was all that you’d need to get people to see your movie. Most of modern movie criticism comes from that show.

  6. I might be the only one but I really enjoy Death to Smoochie. There is something about it that I can’t get enough of. Its like off the wall but not completely. It’s a weird ass movie in all the best ways.

  7. “Oh captain, my captain” Dead Poets Society FTW for me. Amazing movie.

Glad to hear more movie discussion on this episode. I was a little disappointed with the Guardians review.

  8. Let’s not dis Zoolander now. That movie is hilarious. One of my favorite comedies.

  9. I 100% agree with your review. TMNT is one gigantic piece of garbage. For one there is not enough turtles. Linking April O’Neal and her past to her turtles was a lazy way to build a relationship instead of making a story that works. The action was piss poor in every way possible. Honestly this would have been BETTER if Michael Bay directed it. If someone actually liked this I feel bad for you. There is nothing good about this movie.
