The Voice Season 3: Blind Auditions Week 2

The Voice

Season 3

Week 2 of The Voice was awesome!! Rounds 4 and 5 of the Blind Auditions were on the agenda this week September 17-18th, 2012. I was super stoked to see what new faces, and voices would show up. Some very powerful performances, and unique voices were found!

The Blind Auditions Round 4

Adam got four new team members, CeeLo got three new team members, while Blake and Christina each got two new team members.

Team Adam:

Brian Scartocci who sang “Isn’t She Lovely” Stevie is that you? LOL They even stated he had Stevie Wonder’s sound a bit. I really liked this one, he has a great sound, and I think Brian can go far in Season 3!

Alessandra Guercio who sang “The Climb”  This chick is seventeen years old, holy crap she looked as if she was 30! Ok with that out of the way, I really did enjoy her version of this Miley Cyrus song, she has been musically trained and you can tell. Adam is adding some amazing singers this Season, can’t wait to see what she sings next.

Melaine Martinez who sang “Toxic” I think Melaine is a very talented artist, but as Adam stated he heard a bit of Bjork in her. I did as well, and I didn’t like this version of Toxic. I think maybe she should have chosen a different song. I’ll be interested to see what else she’ll be singing this season.

Adanna Duru who sang “The Edge Of Glory”  Well it seems like this seasons blind auditions are favoring Gaga songs! I thought the performance was great, but learning that it was a Gaga song didn’t impress me. I liked what Adanna did with it, but not a Gaga fan here!!!

Team Blake:

Liz Davis who sang “Here For The Party” So far this was my favorite performance of round four. Liz has a great voice, and I am now a fan!!!

Kelly Crapa who sang “Sparks Fly”  I’m not a Taylor Swift fan, but Kelly did a great job giving the song her own twists. I think part of the reason why I don’t have much of an opinion on Kelly yet, is because she didn’t get a full performance on TV.

Team CeeLo:

JR Aquino who sang “Just The Way You Are” This was a great performance! JR even sounds a bit like Bruno Mars, CeeLo is building a great team this year.

Nicholas David who sang “Stand By Me” A Very soulful version of the song, hoping to hear more good things from Nicholas in the future.

Avery Wilson who sang “Without You” Amazing track, and Avery knocked it outta the park.

Team Christina:

Beat Frequency who sang “E.T.”  A Husband and wife team, that sing in unison! I think between Taylor Swift Gaga, and Katy Perry, Season 3’s choices will reflect these artists apparently. As far as Beat Frequency, I really enjoyed their audition, and can’t wait to see where they go in the show!

Paulina who sang “You Make Me Feel…” Again another performance that was recapped, when I first saw the title I thought it was the Michael Jackson song. However it is not. From what I saw during the show, I liked Paulina’s performance, but she isn’t in my favorites list yet.

The Blind Auditions Round 5

Adam got two new team members, CeeLo got four new team members,  Christina  got one new team member. While Blake struck out this week, with no performers picking him.

Team Adam:

Colin McLaughlin who sang “Wild World” I missed this on on the show, but watching it on YouTube, I was amazed at how awesome Colin sounds! As I’ve stated before, I think Adam is going after amazing singers.

Benji who sang “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” Copy and paste that last line, holy crap Benji was amazing!!! He has great range, and he can rock scream so well. The song really fits him, and I hope to see him rockin out more in Season 3.

Team Blake:

Sadly Blake was robbed of ever performer he really wanted!

Team CeeLo:

Mycle Wastman who sang “Let’s Stay Together” Wow!!! Mycle does sound so much like Al Green. It was an amazing performance, and CeeLo adds another soulful voice to his team.

Emily Earle who sang “Ring of Fire” This chick is writing checks she can CASH! Wow! CeeLo might have found Season 3’s Juliet Simms! I can’t wait to hear more from Emily.

Ben Taub who sang “Feeling Good” I’m optimistic about future songs that Ben sings, but this didn’t grab me.

Todd Kessler who sang “Maggie May” Todd in my opinion doesn’t have the rasp that Rod Stewart does. A country twang is what I heard in this rendition of Maggie May. I didn’t really care for it.

Team Christina:

Joselyn Rivera who sang Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) I love Kelly’s song! Joselyn does an amazing performance of it, she hits all those high notes and more.

Week 2 Final Thoughts:

Week two of The Voice’s third season was awesome, thrilling, and soulful. I can’t wait to see more Blind Auditions, and see how the coach’s teams fill out. I’ll be back at this blogging thing, next Wednesday. Overall Season 3 is coming along nicely. It seems like it’ll be forever until the battle rounds. Everyone should check out The Voice. You can watch the performances on The Voice’s YouTube Channel.
