  1. I can relate. Not in the Transformers fandom, which I never really participated in, but I was a part of some other fandoms and I too got frustrated with the fans who wanted to cut each other down on the forums. I used to make fan comics and I would just encourage fans to check out the comics, which were offered for free to read or download. Things sort of got ugly. And once I offered a particular counter-point to comments being made regarding a new version of a toy versus the older version, which I actually had bought. Several of the fans were commenting on the old product without even having seen one in person, let alone bought one. And since the new toy had not been released, all we saw were pictures of a prototype online. I stated that I would have to reserve judgement until the final product since they often undergo changes, and I was berated by several individuals because they just couldn’t see how I could not agree that the new toy was better. When I go to fan forums I expect us to bond over our common interest, and too often my experience has been that people become divided and strongly opinionated. So rather than having discussions, there are arguments. And honestly, I just don’t have the interest in it.

    1. Yeah that’s mostly why I stick to twitter, facebook and here. Most Forums anymore are clouded with if you’re not with me then you’re against me people. No room for opinions and or individual thought. That’s why there isn’t a forum here but commenting system. I believe right or wrong there can be a debate but not a argument. Everyone has their own opinion.

Thanks for the relatable comments Tim. I totally agree.
